Creating SVG Themes for Sony Ericsson Phones
From Svg wiki
Sony Ericsson, a well-known purveyor of SVG-capable phones, offers the Themes Creator tool to content authors and developers so that they can create packaged theme to customize a phone's complete user interface. Within the Themes Creator, one can import SVG and SVGZ files for each user interface component that can be customized with SVG. The tool then previews the result with an embedded SVG Tiny rendering engine. Phones, such as the Sony_Ericsson_K750, support customization with SVG Tiny 1.1 Plus files of the following items: wallpaper, screen saver, startup screen and contact photos. Other components, such as colors and menu backgrounds, can be customized too, but not with SVG for now.
Once a theme is created, the tool packages all the assets into a single file that can be downloaded to the phone, via the Web, MMS or Bluetooth, and installed in one click, effectively updating the whole phone's user interface in one click. The themes files are in fact expressed in an XML format, so technically themes could be generated by other applications too, such as a server-based tool.
The Sony Ericsson Themes Creator is availble for Windows and Mac OS X.
