SVG Open

SVG Open is the annual conference for Scalable Vector Graphics. It was started in 2002, organized by Andreas Neumann. The venue is dedicated to users, authors, implementers, and vendors of SVG. It is well attended by key players in the SVG community, including the members of the W3C SVG Working Group (WG), the authors and editors of the official specification.

Locations

In the true spirit of an international standard, the conference moves each year, cycling between Europe, the Americas, and Asia (and who knows, if adoption keeps growing, maybe Africa, India, Australia...).

SVG Open 2008 will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, at the end of August (see svgopen.org for the latest news)

Past locations have been:

2006: cancelled due to family emergency of organizer
2005: Enschede, Netherlands
2004: Tokyo, Japan
2003: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
2002: Zurich, Switzerland

Who's planning on going to the first SVG conference http://www.svgopen.org/ ?

Some information by the org-commitee (2002-07-19): We had about 200 people from more than 25 countries. Many important organizations, open-source projects and larger companies did attend. Next year's conference will be in Vancouver, Canada. Be sure to also have a look at the papers-section of http://www.svgopen.org/
